Tony D's Ribs & Rub

Handle carefully when plating as these ribs are so tender the fall off the bone. Serve with your favorite beer or red wine.


Rack of ribs

1 lemon

Tony D’s Rib Rub (below) or your favorite

Eduardo’s BBQ sauce (below) or your favorite

Preparation for Tony D's Rib Rub:

Mix well the following ingredients:

½ cup of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of paprika

1 tablespoon of chili pepper

1 teaspoon of Sriracha

1 tablespoon of oregano

2 teaspoons of salt

2 teaspoons of brown mustard

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of onion powder

½ teaspoon of black pepper

Preparation for Eduardo's BBQ Sauce:

Mix well and cook mixture for 15 minutes over low heat

2 cups BBQ sauce or Teriyaki

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 teaspoons Minced Garlic

1 Tablespoons Dry Mustard

1 teaspoon of Salt to taste

½ teaspoon of Black pepper to taste

3 tablespoons Oregano

1 teaspoon Sriracha to taste

1 tablespoons of Honey


1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2) Remove membrane from the back of the ribs

3) Remove excess fat

4) Cut ribs into 1 or 2 rib strips depending on thickness

5) Cut lemon in half and squeeze onto strips of ribs. (the acid tenderizes the meat)

6) Generously apply rib rub to the strips of ribs (see Tony D,s home made rub mix below)

7) Place rub dressed ribs bone up on a foil lined tray. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.

8) Remove ribs. Generously apply BBQ sauce. (see Eduardo’s BBQ sauce preparation) Bake on broil for about 5 minutes or place on grill. DO NOT BURN THE BBQ SAUCE!

9) Remove ribs again. Turn over ribs and Generously apply BBQ sauce. Bake on broil for about 5 minutes or place on grill.
